The International Atomic Energy Agency has reiterated assurance to continue its all-out cooperation to build the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Bangladesh.
The assurance came when Bangladesh permanent reprehensive in IAEA Md. Abu Jafar has recently made a farewell call on IAEA director general Rafael Mariano Grossi in Vienna, according to a press release issued from the ministry of foreign affairs.
During the meeting, they had discussed various issues related to the activities and cooperation of the IAEA with Bangladesh over the last five years.
Rafael Mariano Grossi mentioned that IAEA’s relations with Bangladesh has been strengthened and dynamic during the tenure of the outgoing Bangladesh permanent reprehensive, IAEA’s cooperation also has been increased. The IAEA director general highly lauded the Bangladesh representative in Vienna.
Abu Jafar also thanked the IAEA director general and other officials for extending their cooperation to Bangladesh, the press release said.
He also recalled the former director generals who had paid the official visit to Bangladesh respectively in 2017 and 2010.
As he conveyed invitation on behalf of Science and Technology Minister, the IAEA director general expressed his hope to visit Bangladesh very soon.
