Bangladesh Envoy Presented Credential to Russia

Newly appointed Bangladesh Ambassador to Russian Federation Kamrul Ahsan has presented his credential to the Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin.

The credential presentation was held at Kremlin Palace on Wednesday (05 February 2020), according to a press release issued by External Publicity Wing of the Foreign Affairs Ministry

In last November, the government appointed Ambassador Kamrul Ahsan,  who was then serving as secretary for Bilateral and Consular Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the new ambassador of Bangladesh to Russian Federation.

Ambassador Kamrul Ahsan was a career foreign service officer, belonging to 1985 batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Foreign Affairs cadre.

In his distinguished diplomatic career, Ambassador Ahsan served in various capacities at Bangladesh Missions in Beijing, London, Washington DC and Dubai. He also served as High Commissioner to Canada and Singapore. He was promoted to the rank of secretary in 2016.

Ambassador Ahsan obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He also studied at Beijing Language and Culture University and Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies, Hawaii, USA.

He was promoted to the rank of Secretary in 2016.
